For this purpose, there is provided a device for clamping parts intended to be assembled, in particular vehicle body parts in a forging operation 25, of the type consisting of a fixed arm and a movable arm forming a clamp. the two arms being mounted on a hinge support mounted on an attachment foot, said hinge support comprising two flanges between which the hinge axis of the clamp extends, characterized in that the articulation is provided with spring washers allowing a catch of play and of automatic wear and the flanges have, besides, a flexibility such that they allow to contribute to the catch of automatic game of the articulation. Advantageously, the flexibility of the flanges of the support collaborates with the spring washers of the joint to promote and ensure the automatic adjustment of games and wear of said hinge which allows the hinge support to be mounted on a standard type of fixing foot while the hinge to compensate play and automatic wear makes it possible to use the clamping device thus formed despite the games occurring from one room to another reliably. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the hinge consists of an axis passing through the two flanges through orifices formed in said flanges and through the end of the movable arm, a bushing. friction being interposed between said axis and the movable arm and a friction washer between the movable arm and each flange. The hinge pin has a shoulder at one end bearing against a flange and at its opposite end is arranged to receive a fixing nut, a spring washer being interposed between the shoulder and the flange on the one hand and the flange and the nut on the other hand. The flanges are shaped to have a degree of flexibility contributing to the catching of all games and wear by the spring washers. Preferably, the flanges are made of steel, such as a steel having a burnishing protection. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the theoretical bending of a flange is ± 0.2 mm which leads to a bending with the two flanges of ± 0.4 mm and therefore to a total flexibility with the two flanges of 0.8 mm. This guarantees a clamping with good rigidity, high precision geometry, easy assembly and adjustment. The clamping device according to the invention therefore provides an economic gain since it consists mainly of standard components such as the hinge support and the fixing foot and further it guarantees a geometric quality by the cancellation of games in the joint. Furthermore, to adapt these clamps to form a tool for different parts, there is a series of components such as the mounting foot with several dimensions thus allowing to compose a tool adapted with interchangeable standard components. The invention also relates to a tool comprising at least one clamping device according to the invention carried by a mounting foot on a support plate and allowing the holding of at least one bodywork part for its treatment during various shoeing operations, for example. As can be seen in Figures 1a and 1b, a clamping device 1 according to the invention has a fixed arm 11 and a movable arm 12 forming a clamp. These two arms 11, 12 are mounted on a hinge support 2 which is itself mounted on a fixing foot 3. This fixing foot 3 can be mounted on a support plate with other bearing feet. clamping devices of the same type and with a suitable configuration according to the shape and dimensions of the part to be received. The hinge support 2 consists of two parts, one forming a base 21 is fixed to the free end of the fixing foot 3 and is arranged to receive the fixed arm of the clamp and the other being consisting of two flanges 22 extending parallel to each other from the base 21 and carrying the articulated arm 12 of the clamp. Preferably, the movable arm 12 is hingedly mounted on the two flanges 22 via an intermediate piece 4. The two arms 11 and 12 are respectively mounted on the base 21 and the flanges 22 so as to extend in parallel one to the other, their ends facing each other and provided with clamping elements 5, also removably mounted at the end of the arms 11, 12. A clamp 1 thus formed can be activated manually, a hand lever being attached to the intermediate part 4 so as to drive it in rotation in the direction of opening or closing the clamp 1. It can also provide automatic actuation by a jack 6 whose end of the rod 61 is fixed on the intermediate piece, the jack 6 thus allowing the rotational drive of the movable arm 12. It can thus be seen in FIG. 1 a that the intermediate piece 4 has a substantially T-shaped shape, the ends of the T bar being for one attached to the rod 61 of the cylinder and the other bearing the movable arm 12 of the clamp while the foot of the T is mounted drivable in rotation on the axis of the joint 7. The cylinder 6 is positioned so as to extend substantially parallel to the fixing foot 3. Between the two flanges 22 extends the hinge axis 7 of the movable arm 12 of the gripper 1. A friction ring 8 is further interposed between the axis 7 and the intermediate piece 4 while friction washers 9 are interposed between said intermediate piece 4 and each flange 22. In order to make it possible to compensate for play and wear, the shoulder of the hinge pin and the flange 22 against which it is thus housed between the nut 72 and the flange 22 against which it bears at least one spring washer 10. Furthermore, the flanges 22 are made of steel so that each flange 22 has a theoretical bending of ± 0.2 mm, which makes a bending with the two flanges of ± 0.4 mm and therefore a total flexibility with the two flanges of 0.8 mm, such flexibility that it contributes to the catching up of games and wear in cooperation with the spring washers 10. As can be seen in FIG. 3a, the fixed arm 11 is mounted on the base 21 of the articulating support of the clamp of FIG. 1a with the aid of fixing means allowing a mounting of said arm 11 simple and safe but also for easy disassembly. For the clip of FIG. 1b, and so as to guarantee a good hold when opening the clamp, the end of the fixed arm 11 is not only fixed on the base 21 but also sandwiched between the flanges 22 as can be seen in Figure 3b which shows the enlargement of part A of Figure 1b.
